LHJNA takes
great effort to welcome everyone with many opportunities for

sufficiently at ease with all facets of the school. Some

Soccer Party -
2008
Mr. Kempf,
Soccer Coach, held an end of the year Soccer Party
where the
parents played the students in an indoor soccer game.






Drill Hall
Field Trip
On the last day of
school we went to the Drill Hall at Pax and were able to participate in
many activities
such as bowling, swimming, volleyball and basketball.







Field Day -
2008
The kids had a
great time at our annual field day. They participated in many relays, a
"gross food" eating competition,
a dessert contest
and kickball/dodgeball. A great way to wrap up the school year.

Spring Dance
2008
LHJNA held its
annual Spring Dance. Along with having a DJ there were games such as
Guitar Hero and Dance Revolution for kids to enjoy.








Southern
Maryland Blue Crabs
Our Color Guard
was invited to participate in the Opening Ceremony for one of the very
first home games of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.






Teacher
Appreciation Week
One of
the many activities for the Teachers during Appreciation Week
was a Car Wash given by the students.
The
students also sponsored gift baskets, a breakfast and an
appreciation video.

House is on Saturday,
March 15, 2008 from
1100 - 1400.
We will have
staff members, parents and midshipmen readily available to answer
questions about the school and to conduct personal tours of the
facility.
During our Open
House, we will offer admissions tests beginning promptly at 1215 and
take approximately 1 hour to complete. There is a $50.00 testing fee.
Admissions tests are by appointment only; please contact the schools

Alumni Get
Together
An
impromptu alumni get together was a good time for all. A few of our 70+
high school graduates attended.









Christmas Skate/ Basketball Party
LHJNA students were able to "let their hair down" before Christmas Break
and enjoy a skate/ basketball party in the school's Drill Hall.







Spanish
Dance Program
Mrs.
Waugh's Spanish I class produced a Spanish Dance Program for the
students. They showcased a variety of Spanish dances and invited other
students to join in and learn the dances.








LHJNA held
its first Pot Luck Social of the year.
This effort
was coordinated by the Service in the
Community
class under the direction of Ms. Martel.
Great food
and Great Company!!








The Fall Competitives were held on
November 20, 2007 in the Drill Hall.

Patuxent
River Trip
LHJNA had its
annual field trip to Patuxent River Naval Air Station to celebrate the
Partnership in Education with PEO(T).
We were able to
meet with the new Program Executive Officer, Admiral Skinner, and see
some Unmanned Aerial Vehicles such as the Global Hawk.












Our 2nd
annual Halloween Dance was a success! We had over 70% of the student
body attend

LHJNA FUNDRAISER
With the Holidays fast approaching, now is the time to begin shopping
for those special people in your life. Between October 19 and November
1, 2007, Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy is holding a unique
fund-raising activity that is sure to generate lots of much needed funds
for our school – Avon!
Avon isn't just perfume
and makeup! If you're loved ones dread receiving another ugly tie
or fruit & cheese basket, consider jewelry, warm cuddly slippers,
children's movies and toys, or even a winter coat for their dog!
Direct ship orders may be placed on a
secure website, and personal delivery orders may be placed by shopping
the brochure provided to each midshipman. NOTE: all website orders MUST
Direct Ship to anywhere in the United States and to out-of-country
military loved ones with APO/FPO addresses.
Each participating
midshipman will receive an Avon brochure and order forms on Thursday,
October 18. Payment must be collected by the midshipman at the time each
order is taken (checks payable to LHJNA, cash accepted). The last day
to turn in order forms and money to the school is Friday, November 2.
We expect delivery to our school on Wednesday, November 14th.
Online
ordering, with direct delivery only, is available as part of our
EXTENDED FUNDRAISER PERIOD from October 19 through December 16.

Field trip to
historic Annapolis included visiting the State House,
visiting the Naval
Academy and taking a boat tour on the harbor.

Memorial Ceremony
Our high
school "Service in the Community"
class participated in a 9/11 Memorial program with St.
Mary's County Officials on the 6th anniversary of the
tragedy.

After
